This document follows a series of articles published in several French newspapers and journals during the first half of 2006 that questioned the benefits of breast cancer screening. The purpose of this document is not to engage in a purely technical discussion, but to present the current state of knowledge regarding the benefits and risks of breast cancer screening programs.
