Adolescence and Health: Findings and Recommendations for Working with School-Aged Youth
This book presents and analyzes—based on the 2000 Health Barometer, a survey conducted by INPES on the opinions, knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors of the French population regarding health—certain findings concerning young people aged 12 to 25, particularly school-age youth and college students. Developed in collaboration with teachers, nurses, and doctors from the French Ministry of Education, it aims to provide professionals responsible for implementing health education initiatives in middle and high schools with a better understanding of young people’s health behaviors. The analyzed data focus specifically on four themes: mental health, violence, psychoactive substance use, and sexuality. For each of these, examples of initiatives and intervention tools are presented. A bibliography and a list of organizations and associations that educational staff can turn to are provided at the end of the book.
