A study involving formerly homeless individuals

To better support homeless individuals as they transition to a new life in permanent housing, a participatory research study was conducted involving both the individuals directly affected and the social workers who support them. Combining the experiential knowledge drawn from their lived experiences with academic knowledge requires adjustments to ensure that participants are on equal footing in the collaborative discussion. This approach offers a key advantage: it grounds the research in the reality of the community.
