A symbolic barrier can make places inaccessible even though they are open to everyone [Interview]
Hiking in the calanques, taking a boat to explore the Frioul Islands, creating a herbarium, visiting the natural history museum… These are the small-group activities offered to people facing financial hardship as part of a study conducted in Marseille. They meet once a week for two and a half months, accompanied by two facilitators. The Recetas project, which launched in the summer of 2023, aims to assess the impact of nature-based social prescriptions in combating social isolation in urban areas. It is being conducted simultaneously in several cities, including Barcelona (Spain), Helsinki (Finland), and Melbourne (Australia).
