Eleven maternity wards in France currently hold the "Baby-Friendly Hospital" designation. This designation is awarded based on a set of scientific criteria that promote support for new parents, the mother-child bond, and the newborn’s development: prioritizing skin-to-skin contact, supporting mothers... Clearly explaining to parents what is happening and acknowledging their capabilities restores their confidence and prevents future relationship difficulties.
