French researchers are examining social inequalities in health.
In 2006, the Institute for Public Health Research (Iresp) issued a call for proposals to support research on social inequalities in health. The selected projects examine the mechanisms underlying these inequalities: intergenerational transmission, the impact of occupational status on health, social relationships in working-class neighborhoods that have a positive effect on health, and so on. These scientific findings provide guidance for preventing and reducing these inequalities. Here are a few examples.
