Health policies and health promotion for older adults.

As president of the National Gerontology Foundation, Geneviève Laroque takes stock of the policies promoting the health of older adults implemented in France over the past few decades. She highlights both the progress made and the shortcomings. Particular attention must be paid to the most vulnerable individuals, who require increased medical supervision and a greater intensity of care of all kinds. Promoting the health of older adults relies not only on medical policy but also on taking into account the human aspect and social relationships.
