As part of the mission entrusted to it by the World Health Organization (WHO), the French Union for Oral Health (UFSBD) requested that the Île-de-France region launch a pilot program in schools within Priority Education Zones (ZEP) beginning in the 2002–2003 school year and lasting three years. A school classified as a ZEP has specific objectives and methods to combat the academic achievement gap and is required to develop academic success contracts. The student population in these schools often faces social and economic challenges. The program’s goal is to promote access to preventive care and dental treatment for children in second and fourth grades. This article will focus solely on the results for fourth-grade students.
