Involve the public in the design of prevention messages.
How can we communicate public health messages without making people in vulnerable situations feel guilty or stigmatizing them? How can we effectively convey prevention messages? Research and evaluations of initiatives highlight the need to develop a message that is "acceptable"—not just accessible. Information campaigns must be developed in collaboration with the affected populations, taking into account their economic circumstances, their perspectives, their perceptions, and their environment.
