Mortality, Morbidity, and Costs of Rotavirus Infections in France

Rotavirus is the most common cause of severe acute diarrhea in children. The objective of this study is to determine, for the first time in France, the mortality, morbidity, and costs associated with rotavirus infection using a Markov model that simulates the trajectory of a hypothetical cohort of 740,000 children (the average annual number of births in France from 1992 to 2001).
