Interview with Dr. Etienne G. Krug, Director of the Department of Violence and Injury Prevention at the World Health Organization (WHO). Violence claims as many victims worldwide as pandemics such as malaria or tuberculosis. Etienne G. Krug led the development of the "Violence and Health" report, which served as the starting point for WHO’s action in this area. This physician emphasizes the urgent need to train professionals—and not only in developing countries—to better identify and care for victims of both physical and psychological violence.
