Health Education Competency Framework: A Shared Resource for Professionals in Education, Health, and Social Services.
Training increasingly relies on competency frameworks that exist in several countries but which, until now, had not been formalized in the field of health education in France. This work was carried out under the auspices of the National Advisory Committee for the Development of Health Education Training Programs, chaired by the National Institute for Prevention and Health Education. Based on professional practices and supported by a robust methodology, it identifies the activities and competencies common to all professionals when they engage in health education in direct contact with the public. This framework is intended to provide a reference framework that helps define and structure health education instruction and training for professionals in the health, social services, and education sectors.[Author’s summary]
