Surveillance, investigation, and vector control. Summary of the 1st International Forum on Public Health Surveillance and Response in Island Regions

This first International Forum on Health Surveillance and Vector Control was a success for both the organizers and the participants. For the first time, stakeholders in public health surveillance in human and animal health from the Pacific, the Caribbean, the Indian Ocean, and the French Mediterranean regions shared and discussed their practices and experiences in addressing health threats to our populations. The forum was a success, with proposals for action presented during the closing ceremony. (R.A.)
