For elementary and secondary school teachers, health education is one of many responsibilities. Their training in this area cannot, therefore, be limited to organizing informational sessions on various health-related topics. It is through close integration with other aspects of the teaching profession today and by positioning itself at the heart of the ongoing redefinition of the teaching profession that truly tailored training can be offered. Addressing such “pressing issues” of citizenship with students and trainees is a way to enable them to make the connection between academic knowledge and their experience, and thus to develop as teachers. The purpose of this book is to highlight the various pitfalls arising from the practice of health education training and to offer readers some of the tools available to address them. Intended for all training stakeholders, including professionals from various disciplines and diverse institutional backgrounds, it has been written with the aim of fostering a shared culture among these stakeholders within the framework of collaborative work.
