This report was prepared to examine the consistency and effectiveness of health education methods used with young people, with a particular focus on those aimed at preventing risky behaviors related to drug abuse and the use of psychoactive substances. The expert group’s analysis focused on seven specific areas of study: the current state of youth health education; concepts, models, and trends in youth health education; implementation of health education within the school system; participatory approaches in health education; evaluation of health education programs; prevention of risky sexual behavior; prevention of risks associated with the use of psychoactive substances. Various recommendations were highlighted by the expert group. They focus on four points: ensuring the consistency and continuity of educational programs throughout young people’s schooling; developing specific competencies in health education in France; advancing educational methods and defining new criteria suitable for their evaluation; and promoting the results of health education research and accelerating their dissemination among prevention stakeholders.
