Increase in viral circulation in Normandy as well as in France. It affects all age groups, particularly young adults. As of August 10, 2020,
Increase in incidence (6.1 in Week 32 vs. 3.9 in Week 31 cases/week/100,000 inhabitants) and positivity rate (1.03% in Week 32 vs. 0.66% in Week 31) across the 5 departments
Increase in the effective reproduction number (R_eff) based on positive SARS-CoV-2 PCR tests: 1.44 (1.25–1.65)
Hospital data: 126 hospitalizations, including 4 in intensive care, continuing to decline
Clusters - Cluster alerts: since May 11, 30 clusters have been recorded in the region, 8 of which are currently under investigation (1 in Calvados, 3 in Eure, and 4 in Seine-Maritime)
In Week 32:
SOS Médecins: stable activity (3.4% in W32 vs. 2.6% in W31)
Hospital emergency departments (Oscour®): Low activity, stable compared to the previous week (0.20% in W32 vs. 0.40% in W31)
COVID-19 cases in long-term care facilities: 4 suspected cases reported in W31 (no confirmed cases)
Heat-related illnesses
From August 6, 2020, to August 11, 2020, Météo-France issued red alerts for 2 departments (Eure, Seine-Maritime), orange alerts for 2 departments (Calvados, Orne), and a yellow alert for 1 department (Manche).
Mortality (COVID-19 and all causes)
No significant excess mortality related to Covid-19 or all causes, across all age groups or among those aged 65 and older, has been observed in the region in recent weeks.
