The aim of this book is to provide readers with scientifically validated knowledge and evidence-based practices regarding the reduction of social inequalities in health, which can serve as inspiration for project leaders. It does not offer standardized answers and does not claim to provide indisputable or definitive solutions; rather, it aims more modestly to serve as a practical guide by compiling national and international experiences that seek to reduce inequalities. Written by some fifty recognized experts, it was developed by an editorial committee that drew heavily on Quebec, which possesses undisputed expertise in this field, as well as the International Union for Health Promotion and Education (UIPES). After providing an overview of the issue of social inequalities in health, the book addresses the subject from the perspective of public policy, the healthcare and prevention system, program evaluation, and, finally, effective partnerships in the context of efforts to reduce social inequalities in health.
