Retirement preparation sessions: a matter of public interest.
A successful retirement takes planning. This is nothing new, but in the face of the challenge of an aging population, this issue of preventive public health is becoming a top political priority. Supported by the 2007–2009 national “Aging Well” plan, this book is part of the lead-up to the 2012 European Year for Active Aging and Solidarity between Generations. It offers theoretical guidelines and practical tools for designing and implementing effective retirement preparation sessions as part of a health promotion strategy and a holistic approach to aging. It is aimed directly at trainers, as well as institutions involved in retirement planning and human resources professionals seeking to offer retirement preparation within their organizations (companies, local governments, associations, etc.). Ultimately, it supports individuals nearing retirement or recent retirees in building an active and engaged retirement. It helps them age in good health.
