Key Points

In Week 27, the increase in COVID-19 incidence slowed but remained at a very high level, with a marked rise in hospital admissions and deaths.

Mainland France:
- Incidence rates continue to rise in all regions
- Hospital indicators and number of deaths on the rise
- More pronounced increase in incidence and hospitalization rates among those aged 90 and older
Overseas territories:
- Virological indicators stable at very high levels in Guadeloupe
- Incidence rate continues to rise in Réunion
- Resurgence of the epidemic in Mayotte, with incidence remaining moderate

Prevention

Vaccination as of July 11, 2022 (Covid Vaccine data):
- Vaccination coverage for the booster dose remains stable at 74.9% among those aged 18 and older and at 84.8% among those aged 65 and older
- Only 28.5% of those aged 60–79 and 37.1% of those aged 80 and older eligible for the second booster dose have actually received it
Given the summer holidays and activities that may lead to increased virus transmission, adherence to the combined measures remains essential to protect the most vulnerable populations, and it is crucial:
- to self-isolate if you have symptoms or test positive for COVID-19
- to follow preventive measures, including wearing a mask (around vulnerable people, in crowded indoor spaces—especially on public transportation—or at large gatherings) and washing hands. During this period of prolonged heat, precautions against high temperatures are a priority. Ventilation of enclosed spaces should be limited to the coolest hours of the day.
