Mainland France:
Incidence rate* rising across all age groups
Incidence rate* rising in all regions and exceeding 100 per 100,000 inhabitants in 21 departments
Effective reproduction number (R_e) >1 and rising, indicating an acceleration in the spread of the epidemic
New hospitalizations and critical care admissions are rising or stable in most regions
Overseas territories:
Réunion: high incidence rate* and rising sharply
Variants
100% of cases identified as the Delta variant via sequencing during the Flash surveys on October 12 and 19, 2021
Contact tracing
Among cases, the time between the first clinical symptoms and diagnostic testing has been increasing for several weeks
Decrease in the proportion of people aged 65 and older among cases and contacts
Prevention
Vaccination as of November 9, 2021 (Covid Vaccine data):
76.6% of the population had received at least one dose, and 75.0% were fully vaccinated
24.2% of those aged 65 and older had received a booster dose
Importance of combined measures: vaccination, including booster shots for those aged 65 and older, participation in contact tracing, and adherence to preventive measures
