In Week 40, the situation continued to improve nationwide, but the decline in indicators was less pronounced, and they showed a tendency toward stabilization in certain regions.
Mainland France:
A trend toward stabilization in the incidence rate and new hospitalizations in certain areas
Effective reproduction number (R) <1 but rising for the third consecutive week, reflecting increased viral circulation
Overseas territories:
French Guiana: incidence rate decreasing but still high, with continued heavy pressure on hospitals
Martinique: incidence and hospitalization rates remain high
Variants
99% of cases identified as the Delta variant through sequencing during the Flash surveys on September 14 and 21, 2021
Contact tracing
Slight decrease in the proportion of cases previously identified as contacts over the past two weeks
Decrease in the number of cases with school exposure
Prevention
As of October 12, 2021, 75.6% of the population had received at least one dose of the vaccine and 73.5% were fully vaccinated (Covid Vaccine data)
CoviPrev Survey (September 28–October 5, 2021):
Stabilization in the consistent adoption of preventive measures compared to the previous wave (August 31–September 7)
The proportion of respondents stating they do not intend to get vaccinated remains stable at 13%
60% of respondents said they were in favor of the health pass
Importance of combined measures: vaccination, participation in contact tracing, and adherence to preventive measures
