Agnès Buzyn, Minister of Solidarity and Health, signs Santé publique France’s 2018–2022 objectives and performance contract
Agnès Buzyn, Minister of Solidarity and Health, and François Bourdillon, Director General of Santé publique France, signed Santé publique France’s new Objectives and Performance Contract (COP) for the 2018–2022 period on Monday, February 12, 2018.
This objectives and performance agreement is part of the implementation of the National Health Strategy (NHS), which is also a five-year plan.
It reflects the signatories’ shared commitment to providing the government with an organization that serves as a leading national public expert, recognized at the European and international levels, in the fields of health promotion and prevention, health surveillance and monitoring, and public health intervention.
The COP was developed through a collaborative process coordinated by the IGAS with various stakeholders. Thus, more than fifty interviews provided a comprehensive overview of the expectations of various bodies, organizations, and health professionals regarding the COP. Following this, six interministerial working groups were established to jointly develop strategic and operational objectives.
"Today, I expect Santé publique France to commit to advancing, at the highest level and within a renewed framework, the ministry’s ambitions and actions with a focus on excellence, transparency, efficiency, and modernization—all within an increasingly constrained budgetary context," explains the Minister.
The six strategic objectives are:
Improve and optimize epidemiological surveillance and monitoring of health risks.
Develop and ensure the effectiveness of prevention and health promotion initiatives.
Ensure optimal preparedness and response to health threats, alerts, and crises.
Contribute expertise to public health policies implemented at the regional and international levels.
Ensure efficient management and leadership.
Develop institutional partnerships, links with research, and engagement with civil society.
The Minister took advantage of this visit to express her warm support for the entire staff of Santé publique France.
