On May 4 and 18, 2016, François Bourdillon appeared before the Senate and the National Assembly pursuant to Article L. 1451-1 of the Public Health Code, which requires that the chairs and directors of approximately ten public health agencies undergo a preliminary hearing before the relevant committees prior to their appointment or reappointment.

During this hearing, François Bourdillon presented his vision for the role of the agency’s Director General and answered a series of questions (strategic directions, etc.). The Director General is appointed by decree of the President of the Republic for a three-year term, renewable once.
