Key Points - Week 41 (October 8–14, 2018)

  • Nationwide, asthma-related visits among children remain stable at SOS Médecins clinics and are slightly up in emergency departments (+6%). The proportion of hospitalizations following emergency department visits remains stable. In both networks, the proportion of visits is higher than in the same period over the past three years.

  • In the Indian Ocean region, there has been a slight increase in asthma-related visits among children, with moderate numbers. The proportion of hospitalizations following emergency department visits is also on the rise (32% versus 17% in Week 40).
