Like other countries at a comparable stage of development, including the United States and the United Kingdom, France has begun implementing epidemiological surveillance systems to assess the impact of work on health, to identify the economic sectors, occupations, employment statuses, working conditions, and work situations that pose the greatest health risks, and to facilitate the detection of emerging health issues and their rapid investigation. The results from these surveillance systems help guide prevention and remediation policies, verify the effectiveness of preventive measures put in place, and identify potential deviations.
