More humanity and less stress for call center agents.

Valérie Charmois, an occupational physician at an inter-company health service in Bordeaux, participated—along with fourteen of her colleagues—in a study on stress among call center employees. More than a third of them suffer from mental health issues. They are over-supervised and under excessive pressure. One positive aspect counterbalances this finding: employees show solidarity with one another and are respected by their supervisors. Valérie Charmois shares her insights and recommends preventive measures.
