From the Decision-Maker's Perspective. Special Issue: Airport Areas

Air travel is the mode of transportation experiencing the fastest growth. While air traffic is concentrated at a few major hubs, residential development has gradually encroached on the surrounding areas. We can therefore conclude that an increasing number of residents living near airports and employees working there are exposed to noise pollution. While it is legitimate to conduct epidemiological studies to assess these potential health impacts, this issue of Extrapol shows that little research has been done on this topic. It is therefore an essential area that needs to be explored.
