According to the first "Environmental Health Barometer" survey, published in July 2008 by INPES, the French consider themselves fairly well-informed about environmental health risks, but they are not entirely satisfied with the information they have. Asbestos is ranked as the highest environmental risk, and cancer is cited as the primary health concern related to the environment.
