Since the launch of the vaccination campaign, Santé publique France has worked with its partners to establish information systems dedicated to its daily monitoring and rollout. These systems have been adapted as new vaccines have become available and the groups prioritized for vaccination have expanded. The upcoming arrival of vaccines requiring a single dose has led Santé publique France to update its indicators once again. Consequently, the indicator “People vaccinated with two doses” has now been replaced by the indicator “People fully vaccinated” against COVID-19. Additionally, Santé publique France provides reference information available to everyone on its vaccination-info-service website.

A new indicator that takes multiple situations into account

The arrival of single-dose vaccines, notably the Janssen vaccine, and the recommendation for a third dose for immunocompromised individuals are developments that require certain indicators to be adapted. This is the case with the “people vaccinated with two doses” indicator, which is being replaced by “people fully vaccinated” against COVID-19. This new indicator covers various situations without distinguishing between them, such as:

  • People who have received two doses of vaccines requiring two doses (Pfizer, Moderna, or AstraZeneca vaccines)

  • People who have received a single dose of a vaccine requiring only one dose (Janssen vaccine)

  • People who have received one dose of the Pfizer, Moderna, or AstraZeneca vaccines if they have a history of COVID-19

  • People who have received three doses of the vaccine, such as those at particularly high risk, including immunocompromised individuals.

The definition of this indicator will evolve in line with updated recommendations. The “fully vaccinated individuals” indicator is available on the Géodes mapping platform.

Vaccination-info-service.fr: a reference site accessible to all audiences

The official reference website on vaccination, Vaccination-info-service, provides everyone with access to factual, practical, and scientific information on vaccination at different stages of life, with sections focused on specific diseases and links to reliable content. Regularly updated and expanded, the section dedicated to COVID-19 vaccination also aims to answer as many questions as possible through various topics: “Who should get vaccinated and why?”, “Efficacy and impact”, “Main contraindications”… The site also features a “Professionals’ Area,” specifically designed for healthcare professionals, who play a key role in vaccination efforts.
