Health Monitoring in Normandy. Bulletin of October 22, 2026.
Key Points
COVID-19
- In Normandy, the COVID-19 outbreak has stabilized at a moderate level in week 42. Indicators of healthcare utilization have plateaued at moderate levels, below those observed in previous years. Virological data confirm this trend, with the detection rate of the virus in hospital specimens stabilizing. The concentration of the virus in wastewater, as well as the proportion of deaths certified electronically as Covid-19-related, are decreasing.
Bronchiolitis
- Emergency department visits and consultations at SOS Médecins for bronchiolitis continue to rise among children under one year of age, reaching moderate activity levels, though no RSV has been detected by hospital virology laboratories. The cases of bronchiolitis currently being observed are therefore likely linked to the circulation of other respiratory viruses (such as rhinovirus). The indicators are available on the Odissé website: link
All-Cause Mortality
- Mortality rates are within the usual range of fluctuations.
