COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for Guadeloupe, Saint Martin, and Saint Barthélemy as of April 14, 2022

Key points

In Guadeloupe

In Guadeloupe, a decrease in the incidence rate was observed in Week 14 amid a decline in testing rates. However, these indicators remain at high levels. An increase in the positivity rate was also observed compared to the previous week. The effective reproduction number (R_e) for samples collected between April 3 and 9, 2022, was 0.85—95% CI [0.81–0.88], significantly below 1 for the second consecutive week. The decline in hospital monitoring indicators reflects an improvement in the hospital situation in Week 14.

In Saint Martin

In Saint Martin, all virological indicators were on the rise in Week 14. However, the hospital situation remained stable compared to the previous week.

In Saint-Barthélemy

In Saint-Barthélemy, SARS-CoV-2 was still actively circulating despite the decrease in the number of new infections observed since Week 13. Nevertheless, the situation remained calm in hospitals.
