  • Nearly half of the cases in Guadeloupe are suspected to be locally transmitted (autochthonous/secondary), and more than 80% of cases in Saint Martin are suspected to be locally transmitted.

  • Sentinelles Network: 41 (tele-)consultations for acute respiratory infections (ARI) per 100,000 inhabitants (S16*, 107 in S15*) in Guadeloupe, 14 per 100,000 (S16*, 34 in S15*) in Saint Martin, 10 per 100,000 (S16*, 50 in S15*) in Saint Barthélemy

Surveillance in long-term care facilities, including nursing homes

  • 7 suspected cases reported in 2 long-term care facilities, including 1 hospitalization as of April 21, 2020

Surveillance in hospitals

  • Oscour® network: 29 visits for suspected COVID-19 (Week 16*, 50 in Week 15*), one visit in Saint Martin (Week 16*, 2 in Week 15*) and 29 visits in Saint Barthélemy (Week 16*, 3 in Week 15*)

  • Hospital laboratories: 4.1% of tests positive (S16*, 8.4% in S15*)

  • ICU/intensive care units: 64% of cases aged 65 and older and 61% with at least one risk factor in Guadeloupe, and 33% and 83%, respectively, in Saint Martin

Mortality surveillance

  • No excess mortality detected through week S15*
