COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for Guadeloupe, Saint Martin, and Saint Barthélemy as of June 25, 2021

Key Points

In Guadeloupe, the epidemiological situation continued to improve during week 2021–24. In Saint Barthélemy, epidemiological indicators remained at a low and stable level during week 2021–24. In Saint Martin, the epidemiological situation remained concerning, with viral circulation still active during weeks 2021–24. In Guadeloupe, the Alpha variant (20I/501Y.V1) remained predominant, and Beta and Delta variants were identified within clusters between weeks 2021–15 and 2021–22. In Saint Martin and Saint Barthélemy, the low number of screened RT-PCR tests (<50) does not allow for the determination of variant proportions for each territory. Data on the number of vaccinated individuals recorded in the Vaccin Covid information system are not consolidated and are not presented in this section. Individual prevention measures, community-wide containment efforts, and the acceleration of vaccination are key priorities for addressing this epidemic trend.
