COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for Guadeloupe, Saint Martin, and Saint Barthélemy as of May 12, 2021

Key Points

During week 2021-18, the epidemiological situation in Guadeloupe was favorable, with a decrease in incidence and positivity rates amid stable testing levels. However, hospital capacity remains strained.

In Saint Martin, the situation has deteriorated with an increase in virological indicators. In Saint Barthélemy, the situation must be monitored closely as virological indicators have risen slightly. The UK variant (20I/501Y.V1) is actively circulating in Guadeloupe. For Saint Martin and Saint Barthélemy, the low number of screened RT-PCR tests (<50) for each territory does not allow for the determination of variant proportions. Data on the number of vaccinated individuals recorded in the Vaccin Covid information system are not consolidated and are not presented in this section.
