COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for Martinique as of April 14, 2022

Key Points

The epidemiological situation continued to improve in Week 14. The incidence rate continued to decline, in tandem with a decrease in testing. Meanwhile, the positivity rate remained stable. The R-value calculated from data reported in SI-DEP for samples collected between April 3 and 9, 2022, was 0.70 [0.67–0.73], significantly below 1, confirming the decline of the epidemic over this 7-day rolling period.

In hospitals, trends across all indicators also point to an improvement in the epidemiological situation. The number of visits to adult emergency departments and the number of new hospitalizations for suspected COVID-19 were significantly lower. Furthermore, no new admissions to critical care were recorded in Week 14, for the first time since Week 2021-24.
