COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for Martinique as of August 25, 2022.

Key Points

In S33, virological indicators showed a slight increase in Martinique, while a decrease in hospital indicators was observed.

This increase is believed to be due to the long weekend of August 15, 2022. The adjusted incidence rate and positivity rate were on the rise, up 14% and 3.9 percentage points, respectively, while the adjusted testing rate decreased by 12%.

The 20–29 age group recorded the highest incidence rate. It was in this age group that the incidence rate increased the most: +37%, followed by the 40–49 age group: +22%.

The effective R increased compared to the period from August 7 to 13 (0.76 [0.71; 0.81]). Over the 7-day rolling period (August 14–20), it was 0.98 – 95% CI [0.92–1.05], not significantly lower than 1.

An increase in the number of visits made by SOS-médecins was recorded in S33. The situation in hospitals remained favorable; no admissions to critical care were recorded in S33.
