COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for Martinique, July 7, 2022.
Key Points
In Week 26, the decline in viral circulation continued in Martinique.
The incidence rate and positivity rate decreased by 24% and 3.3 percentage points, respectively, against a backdrop of a 15% decline in testing.
The 30–39 age group recorded the highest incidence rate since Week 23. The effective R value, calculated over a 7-day rolling period (June 26 to July 2), was 0.74—95% CI [0.72–0.77], significantly below 1. This confirmed the decline of the epidemic over this 7-day rolling period.
In addition, a decrease in the proportion of the L452R mutation was observed in Week 26. It was found in 75% of screened samples versus 80% in Week 25.
In hospitals, a decrease in the number of emergency department visits and the number of new hospitalizations, across all departments, was observed in Week 26. However, the indicators remained at high levels.
