COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for Martinique as of March 24, 2022

Key Points

In Martinique, SARS-CoV-2 circulation decreased in week 2022-11. This decrease follows the resurgence observed in week 2022-10. The incidence and positivity rates were declining amid a decrease in testing. The 15–44 age group recorded the highest incidence. The effective reproduction number (R_e) calculated for samples collected between March 13 and 19, 2022, was 0.64 [0.62–0.66], significantly below 1, confirming a decline in the epidemic over this seven-day rolling period.

In hospitals, COVID-19 activity in adult emergency departments was stable, while it was decreasing in pediatric emergency departments. The number of new hospitalizations across all departments was stable, as was the number in critical care.
