Dengue Surveillance in the Caribbean. Update as of January 12, 2023.

Key Points

In Guadeloupe, the presence of two active outbreaks in the municipality of Saint-François confirms that the virus continues to circulate at the start of this year. A few sporadic cases of dengue have also been identified in other municipalities across the archipelago. According to the PSAGE dengue, following consultation with the dengue monitoring committee, the epidemiological situation corresponds to Phase 2, Level 1: Isolated outbreaks or outbreaks with no epidemiological link(s). The DENV-2 serotype has been identified and corresponds to the one that was predominant during the last dengue epidemic in 2019–2021.

In Martinique, Saint Martin, and Saint Barthélemy, the situation is calm. Various factors (rainy season, travel flows, major events) can quickly lead to a deterioration of the epidemiological situation.
