Dengue Surveillance in Guadeloupe and the Northern Islands. Update as of January 28, 2021
Key points
Guadeloupe
A decrease in the city and stabilization in hospitals of surveillance indicators have been observed over the past two weeks. The number of medical consultations for suspected dengue is approaching the epidemic threshold. The epidemic continues across the archipelago. The predominant circulating serotype remains DENV-2, with co-circulation of DENV-1 and DENV-3 serotypes.
Saint Martin
About thirty clinically suggestive cases of dengue were seen in medical consultations last week. It has now been one year since the dengue epidemic (2020-03) was declared in the territory, where the predominant serotype is DENV-1.
Saint Barthélemy
The decline in surveillance indicators is confirmed. The epidemic appears to be in a downward phase. The DENV-1 serotype is the predominant one circulating. In this context, the CEMIE will be consulted in the coming days to discuss a possible change in the epidemic phase according to the PSAGE*.
