Dengue Surveillance in Martinique. Update as of August 21, 2020.

Epidemiological Situation

The dengue epidemic continues to spread in Martinique. Epidemiological surveillance indicators remain high as of mid-August. The peak values observed during the last dengue epidemic in Martinique (2013–2014) have now been exceeded. The virus is widespread throughout the entire territory. In recent weeks, there has been a resurgence in the number of new confirmed cases in most municipalities in southern Martinique. Current weather conditions are conducive to the development of peri-domestic larval breeding sites; it is essential to redouble vigilance to prevent the situation from worsening. Martinique remains in Phase 4, Level 1 of the PSAGE dengue alert system: confirmed epidemic.
