Dengue Surveillance in Martinique. Update as of October 10, 2019.
Epidemiological Situation
To date, the epidemiological situation regarding dengue fever indicates localized viral circulation. This analysis is based on the following factors:
Confirmed and suspected outbreaks in the municipalities of Sainte-Luce and Fort-de-France, respectively;
The continuous occurrence of confirmed cases recorded by the biological surveillance system over the past eight weeks;
The relatively limited number of clinically suggestive dengue cases seen in private practice, both by the island’s general practitioners and by the SOS-Médecins association.
We must therefore remain vigilant regarding the potential geographic spread of this viral activity, which is still relatively localized.
