Analysis of the Epidemiological Situation

Over the past 3 weeks, epidemiological surveillance indicators have shown a decline in the influenza epidemic in Guadeloupe. However, the number of influenza-like illnesses seen in general practice remains above the expected peak values for this time of year. One severe case of influenza A requiring admission to the intensive care unit has been reported so far. The circulating subtypes identified at the start of 2013 correspond to the AH1N1pdm09 virus.

To limit the risk of transmission, wash your hands several times a day with soap or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer, and when you sneeze or cough, cover your mouth and nose with your sleeve or a disposable tissue. If you have flu-like symptoms, call your primary care physician and contact 15 only in case of an emergency.
