Influenza Surveillance in Martinique. Update as of March 20, 2019.
Epidemiological Situation
In Martinique, the decline in flu activity indicators observed in early March did not continue. This decline was due to school holidays and the closure of many doctors’ offices. Since the start of the epidemic, 11,200 people have consulted a general practitioner for flu-like symptoms. The predominant virus isolated is type A, both in hospitals and in the community. Eight severe cases hospitalized in intensive care have been recorded, one of whom has died.⇒ The epidemic continues in Martinique
