Analysis of the Epidemiological Situation

Malaria activity has been low since the beginning of 2014. The seasonal resurgence usually observed in St. Georges in late September and early October has not yet begun. It should be noted, however, that there have been several cases, particularly among military personnel, whose infections resulted from stays or missions at gold mining sites, particularly in the municipalities of Maripasoula and Camopi. The malaria risk map has not yet been validated by the expert committee and will therefore be released at a later date.
