HIV/AIDS

  • LaboVIH survey: drop in participation by clinical laboratories (55%)

  • DO: estimated completeness at 79%, proper use of e-DO (98% of reports), decrease in reports covering both components (laboratory technician + clinician)

  • HIV testing: resurgence in 2021 following the decline observed in 2020

  • HIV diagnoses: downward trend

  • AIDS diagnoses generally stable; estimated rate of 8 per million inhabitants in 2021

Chlamydia trachomatis infection

  • In the public and private sectors (SNDS):

    • Screening rate of 39.5 per 1,000 inhabitants, majority women (71%), increasing especially among women under 25

    • diagnosis rate of 1.4 per 1,000 inhabitants, rising more sharply among men, highest among women under 25

  • At CeGIDD:

    • number of screenings on the rise

    • Positive test rate decreasing among women and increasing among men; for the first time, higher among men

    • Characteristics of diagnosed cases: majority of men (63%), young people under 26 (59%), multiple sexual partners (84%); nearly one-third had a history of STIs

Gonococcal infection

  • In the public and private sectors (SNDS):

    • Screening rate of 45.3 per 1,000 inhabitants, majority women (76%), increasing especially among women under 25

  • In CeGIDD:

    • number of screenings on the rise

    • positive rate on the rise, 5 times higher among men

    • Characteristics of diagnosed cases: majority of men (86%) and people aged 26 to 49 (54%); 44% had a history of STIs

Syphilis

  • In the public and private sectors (SNDS):

    • Testing rate of 46.1 per 1,000 inhabitants, majority women (68%), increasing especially among women under 25

  • In CeGIDD:

    • number of tests stable

    • positivity rate decreasing, 7 to 8 times higher among men

    • Characteristics of diagnosed cases: majority of men (96%) and MSM (88%), people aged 26 to 49 (62%), and symptoms suggestive of STIs (58%); 15% with HIV co-infections; 53% diagnosed at the primary stage of syphilis
