  • Initial results of the survey on the surveillance system for clusters of Acute Respiratory Infections and Acute Gastroenteritis conducted in nursing homes in the Rhône-Alpes region.

  • The Sentinelles network has issued a call for contributions to influenza surveillance in Rhône-Alpes for the 2015-2016 season.

  • Enhanced surveillance of chikungunya and dengue in Rhône-Alpes: Since May 1, 2015, 28 cases of dengue and 8 cases of imported chikungunya have been confirmed in the 5 departments of the region covered by this system.

  • 2015 Seasonal Surveillance of Mushroom Poisoning Cases: Since the start of surveillance (June 29, 2015), 137 cases of poisoning have been recorded in Rhône-Alpes.

  • As part of the first World Antibiotic Awareness Week, taking place from November 16 to 20, 2015, the Rhône-Alpes Regional Health Agency (ARS) organized the first interregional day of meetings and discussions on the proper use of antibiotics within healthcare facilities across the region on November 3. More than 250 people attended this event, which marked the official launch of the network of antibiotic therapy advisors.

  • Ebola Update in West Africa: As of November 17, 2015, the WHO reported a total of 28,599 cases (suspected, probable, and confirmed) and 11,299 deaths in the three most affected countries (Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Guinea). Sierra Leone was officially declared free of Ebola virus transmission by the WHO on November 7, 2015, and was removed from the risk areas in the case definition by the inVS on November 9. In Guinea, no new cases have been reported since October 29, 2015.
