Health Monitoring in the Bourgogne and Franche-Comté Regions. Update as of October 20, 2022.

Key Points

COVID-19

  • The circulation of SARS-CoV-2 is slowing down after weeks of increases in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, with a decline in the incidence rate (IR) (712 per 100,000 inhabitants, -38 points) and a stable positivity rate (PR) (33%, -0.8 points), against a backdrop of reduced testing. These two indicators remain higher than the rates observed at the national level (IR=577/100,000 inhabitants, PR=27%). This downward trend is observed in all departments, except in Côte-d’Or (relative stability), Nièvre, and Yonne (persistent increase), and across all age groups, except among those over 60, who continue to be tested.

  • The number of new hospitalizations has plateaued after a three-week rise, as has the number of new admissions to intensive care.

Bronchiolitis

  • Epidemic phase

  • The number of cases of bronchiolitis reported by SOS Médecins is rising sharply this week, well above the figures observed during the same period in the two previous seasons.

  • The number of emergency room visits remains high and is close to the figures from the previous season during the same period.
