Bronchiolitis
Epidemic phase on the rise.
Increased activity in week 50:
Emergency department activity has exceeded 300 visits since Week 49 (accounting for more than 20% of visits);
SOS activity has remained at epidemic levels of around 25 cases since Week 47 (nearly 10% of cases);
The epidemic peak was not reached in early December, unlike what was observed in the previous two years.
Influenza
Epidemic phase with a slow start.
Influenza-related activity has increased slightly in emergency departments (0.8% in W50 vs. 0.6% in W49) (Figure 4) and remains above 5% for SOS (6% in W50 vs. 7% in W49).
Since week 25, 253 clusters of acute respiratory infections (ARI) have been reported in long-term care facilities. To date, no cluster has been attributed exclusively to influenza (vs. 23 in France).
Acute Gastroenteritis
Activity (all ages) at SOS Médecins clinics is stable, slightly above the levels observed during the same period last year.
Activity (all ages) in emergency departments is stable, within the low levels observed last year during the same period.
COVID-19
The spread of SARS-CoV-2 is slowing in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. The rate of confirmed cases in the region is decreasing, falling from 60.8 in Week 49 to 56.3 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 50.
The percentage of cases involving suspected COVID-19 among SOS Médecins associations is decreasing (6.32% vs. 8.14% in Week 1), and the rate of emergency department visits remains stable (2.05% vs. 2.20% in Week 1).
The proportion of hospitalizations following an emergency department visit has decreased slightly (40.6% vs. 41.7% in Week 1) and primarily involves those aged 65 and older (84.8%).
Since Week 25, 253 clusters of acute respiratory failure (ARF) cases have been reported in healthcare facilities. The majority of these were attributable exclusively to COVID-19 (86%).
