Bronchiolitis-related activity among children under 2 years of age:
remains at low levels for the SOS Médecins associations;
has decreased slightly this week in emergency departments (1.13% vs. 1.20% in week 1) and is within the range observed last season.
COVID-19
In week 39 (W39), the rate of confirmed cases in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté is relatively stable, rising from 43 per 100,000 inhabitants in W38 to 45 in W39. The percentage of cases involving suspected COVID-19 among SOS Médecins associations (Figure 3) decreased slightly (6.90% vs. 7.15% in W-1). The rate of emergency department visits is relatively stable and remains low (1.13% vs. 1.20% in S-1). The proportion of hospitalizations following an emergency department visit is increasing (37.2% vs. 30.9% in S-1) and primarily concerns those aged 65 and older (87.0%).
In Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, the EG.5 variant is the most frequently detected variant, accounting for 41% of interpretable sequences in the Flash survey of September 11, 2023. The XBB.1.16 and XBB.2.3 variants are also circulating.
